# Settings

> Your profile, password, notifications, team and activity log, and where to close your account.

**Settings** holds your own account, what WireDesk tells you about, who else is in the workspace, and what everyone has changed. Open it from **Settings** at the foot of the sidebar, or from the menu under your name.

It has four tabs:

| **Notifications** | Everyone. Only the owner and admins can change them. |
| **Team**          | The owner only                                       |
| **Activity**      | Everyone                                             |

## Account

### Profile

**Name** and **Email**, saved with **Save changes**.

Your email address is also the address you sign in with. Changing it does not take effect straight away. WireDesk sends a confirmation to your *current* address, and the new one only takes effect once you open that link. Until then you keep signing in with the old one. This way, someone who got hold of a signed-in session cannot move the account to an address they control.

### Password

Enter your **Current password** and a **New password** of at least 8 characters, then select **Change password**. Changing it signs you out on every other device.

If you signed up with Google or GitHub and never set a password, this card says so instead of showing a form. There is no password to change.

### Danger zone

Only the owner sees this card. **Close my account** deletes everything:

* releases your phone numbers, which cannot be reclaimed afterwards
* cancels your subscription
* deletes your agents, conversations, contacts, leads and knowledge, and the notes your agents saved about callers

If anyone else is in the workspace, they lose it too. There is no undo, and no copy is kept. To confirm, you type your own email address. Export anything you want to keep first. See [exports](/docs/workspace/exports).

## Notifications

Which events WireDesk tells you about, and whether each one arrives by **Email**, **Text**, or **Email and text**. Each row has a switch and saves as soon as you change it. Notifications apply to the whole workspace. See [notifications](/docs/workspace/notifications) for the full list.

## Team

Invite people, change their roles and remove them. Only the owner sees this tab. See [team and roles](/docs/account/team-and-roles).

## Activity

The **Activity log** lists the last 50 changes anyone made to the workspace, newest first, with who made each one and when. It records changes, not views. It covers:

* agents: created, changed, deleted, restored
* channels and each channel's instructions
* phone numbers attached and released
* actions added, changed and removed
* knowledge added, removed, and pages excluded
* the chat widget's style, allowed domains and visitor verification
* install instructions sent to a developer
* the spend cap and the plan
* invitations, role changes and removals

## Appearance

Light or dark mode is not on this page. Open the menu under your name at the foot of the sidebar and choose **Appearance → Light**, **Dark** or **System**. The choice is saved in your browser, so each device keeps its own.
