By default, Wiredesk keeps conversations while your account is open. If your policy says transcripts must be deleted after a set time, set it in Settings → Security → Keep conversations for.

Choose a period

Pick 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 or 180 days, 1 year or 2 years, or Never — keep them. Before you save, the card shows what the new period would delete straight away: how many conversations and messages, and when the oldest of them ended. If that number isn’t zero, the save button says how many conversations it will delete, for example Save and delete 1,240. Only the workspace owner can change the period. Admins can see it and the preview.

What is deleted

Every 15 minutes, Wiredesk deletes each conversation that ended longer ago than your period. That covers phone calls, website chats and email threads, and includes:
  • every message in the conversation
  • the link to any helpdesk ticket it opened. The ticket stays in your helpdesk.
A conversation that is still open isn’t counted until it ends. A chat that a visitor reopens starts its clock again when it next ends.

What stays

Deleted conversations can’t be recovered. Export anything you need to keep first. Each change to the period, and each run that deletes something, is recorded in the activity log. Deletions show Wiredesk as the person who made them.
