A Calendly booking action works like Book meetings does for Cal.com: when someone wants to meet, the agent looks up real open times on your Calendly, offers them, and books the one they confirm, on a call, in chat or by email. It needs Calendly connected to the agent first.

Set it up

1

Connect Calendly

See Calendly for the token.
2

Add the action

Agents → your agent → Actions → Add action → Calendly booking.
3

Pick the event

Event link is the booking link you’d share for the event, like https://calendly.com/acme/30min. Leave it empty to book into your first active event.
4

Check the time zone

Time zone is filled in from your browser. Times are offered in it, and it’s recorded as the attendee’s. Use a name like America/New_York.
5

Pick channels and save

Each agent has one Calendly booking action.

How it works in a conversation

  1. Finding times. The agent asks Calendly for open times: from now to a week out, or the dates the person asks about (up to 31 days at once). It gets up to 20 back, each with a label like “Tuesday, October 13 at 3:00 PM”.
  2. Offering times. It only offers times Calendly returned, in those words.
  3. Booking. Once they confirm one, it books it with their name and email. Calendly emails them the confirmation, with links to reschedule or cancel. If your event asks for a location, the first one you set is used.
  4. If the time is gone. The agent offers another one from a fresh lookup.

When something goes wrong

  • The event link doesn’t match an active event. The agent offers to take a message, and the Calendly card on Actions › Connections shows the problem.
  • A free Calendly plan. Calendly only books through its API on paid plans; the card shows Calendly’s reason.
Lookups and bookings appear in the action log as get_calendly_slots and book_calendly_meeting.
